This has been around, but I came upon it again and it reminded me of how much I love it and how jealous I am that it was not my idea. Love everything about it.

Get Your Paint On: One

My finished first assignment for GYPO.
Things I did well:
- Didn’t derp the watercolour
- 4/6 of the colours were precisely the shade I wanted
- Made it look like the sketch
Things I didn’t:
- Light blue and Red lines I sort of settled on when mixing and I wasn’t pleased with the result
- No movement/energy in the drawing
- The assignment was to draw inspiration from gee’s bend quilts. I was too intimidated to do anything with blocks of colour and went with angles.
Other than that, it was fun to paint (terrifying, but fun) and I’m looking forward to this week’s assignment. I’m hoping to do a little more blerging about the inspiration for assignment two since it’s going to be very personal.
